Story
In 2013, my world was turned upside down when I received the devastating news that I had breast cancer. The experience was life-changing, and the words 'you have cancer' will never leave me. After receiving treatment at The Christie, I was clear for 7 years. However, in 2021, I found a lump in my neck and received the heartbreaking news that I had secondary breast cancer. My cancer is incurable, but thanks to The Christie's cutting-edge treatment, recent scans show that the tumours are reducing and things are stable.
I am passionate about fundraising for The Christie so that others can receive the same top-class treatment that I have been fortunate enough to receive. This year marks my 10th year of fundraising, and I am determined to make it big with my events.
My events this year include
Manchester Great Run,
Ullswater Way - a 20-mile walking route around Ullswater lake,
The Walk of Hope - a 10k walk in Tatton Park. I am also considering a cycling event.
I am grateful for any support you can give towards my fundraising goal of £200 for The Christie Charity. Your contribution will make a difference for both myself in the lives of those affected by cancer.
