Story
On Saturday 18th April 2026 at Strathclyde Park we come together in memory of Gary Tumilty who tragically passed away at the age of 60 due to a sudden stroke. He was known for his unconditional love for his family, a great love for Scotland and his willingness to help anyone in need. Throughout Gary’s life he always supported others and encouraged them to do their best either in work or in life. We have set up this walk to honour Gary by raising funds for Chest, Heart and Stroke our chosen charity. This year the walk honours Gary on his first year anniversary. However, we want everyone to remember their loved ones they have lost while we walk together.
As we take these first steps we hope to grow Gary’s Walk into a nationwide event that continues to inspire and bring people together, just as Gary always did. We want this walk to be accessible for everyone, we plan to walk twice round Strathclyde however you can walk as much or as little as you can
