Why I’m Doing This – From Dexter (age 12):
Hi, I’m Dexter. I’ve always loved Halloween, the decorations, the costumes, the spooky music, all of it.
Last year, we turned our house into a haunted display and loads of people came to see it. I couldn’t believe how many smiles it brought to people’s faces.
Here’s last years display : youtube.com/shorts/6w02-0ZEzmc?feature=shared
This year, I wanted to do something bigger, not just with the display, but with the reason behind it.
I chose to raise money for Little Havens because they help children who are really poorly.
I’m lucky because I get to run around, build Halloween props, and have fun. Some children don’t get to do that. Little Havens gives them comfort and happiness when they need it most.
If I can raise some money to help them smile, even just for a little bit, then that means everything to me.
When I visited Little Havens, I was so impressed with what they do and the hundreds of kids and families that they support every year.
I was told that it costs £1000 per month per room. I’d like to try and raise enough to cover a room for 6 months, and with your help, I know we can do it.
Thanks for reading and if you come to see my display at 30 Queens Road, Rayleigh, Essex, bring a friend!

About Little Havens:
When a child has been diagnosed with a complex or incurable condition, Little Havens can provide the care they need, ‘Making every day count’.
We work closely with the family to ensure their care and support is the best it can possibly be, so the whole family can get the most from life, and make every day count.
Most of the babies, children and young people we care for have conditions that limit their life expectancy, making it even more important for them and their families to make every day of their lives together count.
