Story
George was a bright, funny, Arsenal and Lego loving, healthy 12 year old when he suddenly developed a headache out of the blue. Just 11 months later he was gone, taken by a brain tumour for which there was a 0% chance of survival.
George’s mum Louise says, “We miss him every single day. There is a huge void in our lives that can never be filled and we know we will never recover from what has happened. Losing George has changed us forever. We work with Brain Tumour Research because we cannot bear the thought of other families going through this same pain and the loss of a child until a cure is found.”
Brain tumours kill more children and young adults than any other cancer and yet they remain underfunded and under researched. That is why this challenge means so much to us.
Any amount donation, big or small, is so appreciated. Your support will help fund vital research and bring hope that one day no family will have to face this heartbreak.
Thank you for helping us honour George and try and change the outcome for future families and children facing a brain tumour diagnosis.
One in three people in the UK knows someone affected by a brain tumour. This disease is indiscriminate; it can affect anyone at any age. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002.
Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. It is the only national charity focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours. Help fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
