Story
Known affectionately by many as Trudi, Mummy, Oma, or Mrs P, my mother was an enthusiastic and much-loved presence in many lives. Diagnosed with Polymyositis in February 2025, she faced her illness with dignity and strength, even as it gradually took away the independence she cherished. Though her passing is a profound loss, it is comforting to know that she is now at peace.
In memory of my mother, I would like to help anyone who is affected by this awful disease in the future. Myositis UK funds research to improve diagnosis and treatment of the rare group of diseases known as the inflammatory myopathies (including Polymyositis). They are dedicated to funding research to improve the lives of those affected by myositis.
