We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

In May 2023 my Grandad lost his brave battle with cancer following treatment for a brain tumor. I miss him so much and have chosen to set myself a sporty challenge in his memory. I have been focusing on my swimming recently and completing more and more lengths each week. I have set myself the target of doing 5000m in January 2024 and raise £500 for Brain Tumour Research UK.

Too many people are being faced with the same devastating diagnosis each year – every two hours, someone is diagnosed with a brain tumour in England

In the UK, 16,000 people each year are diagnosed with a brain tumour

Only 12% of brain tumour patients survive beyond five years of their diagnosis, whereas over 70% of breast cancer and over 40% of leukaemia patients survive beyond five years

I am fundraising for Brain Tumour Research as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK. Please help me fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
