Story

On November 5th 2017 we lost my younger brother, John.

He had spent 9 months battling cancer before he was cruelly taken from us.

He spent his last few weeks at Sue Ryder Wheatfields in Leeds and this is where his brave fight ended.

The care, love and support he received at Wheatfields is something I will never forget. As we all know, care homes and hospices were hit incredibly hard over the last few years and they need all the help we can give. This is why I am raising money for them and why I am doing this marathon in John's memory for such a beautiful place.

John is sadly no longer here, but there are lots of us who are able to run, hike, bake, sing & dance and do so many amazing things to support causes like this so I am asking for your help to raise some cash for this amazing place and the brilliant people who work there

In 2023 I ran the Manchester Marathon for Sue Ryder and now I’m back for an even bigger challenge. The London marathon means so much to so many people and feels like a great opportunity to raise more awareness and money for Sue Ryder.

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can access the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with Sue Ryder's support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. They are there when it matters.
