We’re here to inform, support and advocate for everyone affected by pregnancy loss. Miscarriage, ectopic and molar pregnancy can be a deeply distressing and difficult experience, and everyone who experiences pregnancy loss and its impact should get the understanding, care and support they need.

Story

Hi everyone,

In April 2025 I will be running the ABP Newport Marathon to raise money and awareness for the Miscarriage Association, a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. This year has been particularly challenging for Hannah and myself, as we have experienced the heartbreak of not one but two miscarriages within close succession. This is something that never crossed our minds as possible but we find it as our reality. Our personal experience has opened my eyes to the profound impact that miscarriage has on countless families, and I want to do everything I can to support others who are going through similar experiences.

Why This Cause Matters

Miscarriage is much more common than many people realise. According to the Miscarriage Association, around one in four pregnancies ends in miscarriage. This means that every year in the UK, approximately a quarter of a million pregnancies result in loss. Despite its frequency, miscarriage remains a topic shrouded in silence and stigma, leaving many parents to grieve alone.

Here are some key facts about miscarriage:

Frequency: Approximately 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage.

Impact: Around 250,000 miscarriages occur annually in the UK.

Awareness: Many people are unaware of how common miscarriages are, and there is a significant need for increased awareness and support.

Our Story

The pain of our miscarriages has been immense, but through the support of the Miscarriage Association, we have found a community and resources that have helped us navigate this difficult time. Their work in providing information, support, and advocating for better care and understanding of miscarriage is invaluable. By running this marathon, I hope to give back to an organisation that has given us so much and to help others who might be feeling isolated and alone in their grief.

How You Can Help

My goal is to raise £5,000 for the Miscarriage Association, and I need your help to get there. Your donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference. Here’s how your contribution can help:

£10 could help the Miscarriage Association provide support and information to someone affected by miscarriage.

£25 could fund a support group meeting, offering a safe space for people to share their experiences.

£50 could help produce and distribute informative materials to healthcare professionals and the public.

Thank you for your generosity and for standing with us in this important cause. If you, or know somebody, who is going through the same grief, my messages are open to talk.
