Unexpectedly Karen was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer on 29th February 2024. Karen was admitted to hospital the same day and deteriorated rapidly.
On Wednesday 6th March 2024 we managed to grant Karen her wish to be cared for at home by her family and the District Nurses.
Sadly Karen passed away peacefully at home with her husband David holding her hand at 05:55 Sunday 10th March 2024.
Karen was a wonderfully talented lady whose creativity shone through her baking and sewing skills. She created wonderful clothes, knitted jumpers and soft toys for many.
Karen thoroughly enjoyed baking and making her famous eclairs, fairy cakes, lemon drizzle cake and chocolate crunch.
She enjoyed making things for others and everything had to be done to perfection!
Karen loved Cornwall and spending time with her family on holidays, walking the coastal paths and taking in the views with a Cornish pasty or Cornish Cream tea.
Karen will have a private cremation to be held on Friday 22nd March 2024 as per her request to David. Strictly no attendees (Direct Cremation) and no flowers by request.
Karen’s ashes were scattered on The Lizard, Cornwall on 9th September 2024 by David, Becca, April, Sam & Allan as per her final wishes.
