We’re taking on an extraordinary challenge - climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, the legendary “Roof of Africa” and highest single mountain in the world - to raise vital funds for the “Greenfingers” charity.

24 of us from across the UK gardening and horticulture industry will together make this 8-day trek and experience of a lifetime. Not only do we all support this incredible charity, but we will also pave the way for the wider horticulture industry and local garden centres to join in and undertake the next challenging experience organised to raise funds for Greenfingers.

For Matt and I, this is about much more than reaching the 5,895m high summit in -20°c freezing temperatures. It’s a deeply personal mission to support a cause that means a great deal to us. Our target is to raise £15,000 between us ahead of our trek next month, 10th – 21st June 2026.

Greenfingers Charity is a national organisation dedicated to supporting life-limited children and their families who spend time in hospices across the UK. They create beautiful, therapeutic gardens and outdoor spaces where the children and their families can enjoy precious outdoor time and moments of tranquillity, peace, and reflection together away from the clinical care.

Any donation will help create another magical garden space. It costs on average £250,000 to design and complete a garden and between us 24 trekkers we aim to raise this huge amount climbing Kilimanjaro to complete a new garden and outdoor space for the hospice, Naomi & Jack’s in Winchester, Hampshire.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world to us. We have been hard training (Kate more so) in the gym, climbing the UK’s highest peaks and walking every weekend for the last 9 months. You can follow us during our final training or look back at the places we’ve been, the hikes we’ve completed and best of all check-in daily with us during our actual Kilamanjaro climb.
