Story
In July, I’ll be taking on a 7-day trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro — the highest mountain in Africa at 5,895 metres — to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity incredibly close to my heart.
My nana was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s before she sadly passed away, and I had the privilege of caring for her during that time. Watching someone you love slowly lose memories, independence, and parts of themselves is heartbreaking, and it’s something that affects so many families every day.
Taking on this challenge is my way of honouring her memory, raising awareness, and helping fund the support, care, and research that families facing dementia desperately need.
The climb will be physically and mentally challenging, especially at such high altitude, but it feels small compared to what people living with Alzheimer’s and their loved ones face every single day.
Any donation, no matter how big or small, would mean the world to me and will go towards supporting the incredible work of the Alzheimer’s Society. Thank you so much for your support ❤️
