We are back again for another Men Vs Women Charity Netball Match, this year our chosen charity is "Make 2nds Count" a charity which is very close to our friend and GA superstar Jen, here is a little note from our lovely Jen and why this charity is so important to her and now to us - her netball family...........
That’s right, I’m back and about to step out on the netball court. For those who are new here, my name is Jen and my sister, Bec, currently has secondary breast cancer, which is cancer that has spread beyond the breast. For the past 3 years, Bec has faced treatment after treatment, setback after setback with an insane amount of positivity. So as her little sister, who feels a little helpless and regrets not becoming a doctor, I want to raise money for the incredible charity Make 2nds count, who are dedicated to funding research into secondary breast cancer.
My amazing netball team is going to hold and compete in a netball tournament against other teams and husbands to raise money for this incredible charity. So, if you can, please donate and if you’re free on June 28th come to Holywell Leisure Centre to watch what I’m sure will be a very interesting tournament!
Secondary (metastatic) breast cancer is a cancer that has spread beyond the breast to other parts of the body.
An estimated 61,000 men and women in the UK are living with this incurable disease, and symptoms can vary from person to person. It has a devastating impact on people affected and their families, yet many people have never heard of it. It is one of the biggest killers of women under 50 in the UK.
Secondary breast cancer can be treated but it cannot be cured.
Please give generously!
