Across Africa, rhinos are being poached to the brink of extinction. This is not by accident, but by organised criminal networks feeding demand across Asia. It’s a tragedy that connects two continents, and one we all have a stake in changing.

On the frontlines of this fight are the Black Mambas - the world’s first all-female, community-led anti-poaching unit. These women patrol the borders of Kruger National Park, unarmed, protecting rhinos and other wildlife while serving as powerful role models in their communities.

Their courage is supported by Helping Rhinos, a UK-based charity creating lasting solutions for wildlife protection and community resilience. Together, they’re proving that conservation and empowerment go hand in hand.

This campaign supports the Black Mambas through Helping Rhinos. In November 2025, a team of women from around the world - including me - will trek the Drakensberg Mountains with HER Planet Earth, raising funds and awareness for this cause. The expedition is self-funded, so 100% of donations go directly to Helping Rhinos.
