McMillan was crucial in helping my family members during their own journey with Cancer. My brother-in-law’s diagnosis and treatment for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma was extremely tough, but with the excellence of the Freeman Hospital's Dr’s and Nurses, incredible treatments, the support of Macmillan and his own heroic determination, he beat it, not only once but twice! They were also crucial during my Dad’s, Tom Smith's own cancer treatment, who also beat his diagnosis in early 2022. Although he is no longer with us now, I’d like to think he would be very happy that in his memory, money can be fundraised to help people and their families who are currently going through their own journey with this heartbreaking and complex disease.
