Lilly's fundraiser for Alex, The Leukodystrophy Charity

Lilly Thompson is raising money for Alex, The Leukodystrophy Charity

Run Alton Towers 2025 · 15 November 2025 to 16 November 2025 ·

Alex, The Leukodystrophy Charity (Alex TLC) was founded in 2004 by a mother whose two sons had been diagnosed with leukodystrophy. She recognised the severe lack of information and support available and wanted to make sure that no one had to face leukodystrophy alone.

Story

My little baby cousin (my amazing cousin’s son) Noah, was recently diagnosed with Aicardi Gautieres Syndrome (AGS) which is a Leykodystrophy.

Leukodystrophies are rare genetic disorders that mainly affect the white matter of the central nervous system (ie the brain or spinal cord). They affect people of all ages and backgrounds, most notably children.

Leukodystrophies are usually degenerative, causing symptoms such as impaired mobility, vision, speech and hearing, incontinence, and loss of cognitive skills. In many cases, this sadly means a reduced or limited lifespan.

Alex TLC is an incredible charity which has already supported Christie, Ashley and Noah in so many ways and will continue to do so throughout Noah’s life.

Your donation will help Alex TLC continue to provide the best support possible to those affected.
