Story
Our daughter Lily is running a 5K run at Battersea Parkrun on either 24th October or 7th November 2026 and she's hoping to beat her own personal best. The run takes place in Battersea Park at 9am.
Last year, at age 9, Lily achieved a time of 19:45 at Battersea Parkrun on 14th March 2026. That performance was remarkable for her age and remains an incredible personal achievement. Now 10 years old, Lily is excited to run again and try to beat that timing.
This run isn't just about chasing a personal best. Lily is raising funds for Scope, an incredible disability equality charity that provides essential support, resources, and advocacy for children and young people with disabilities and their families across the UK. The charity's work makes a real difference in people's lives every single day.
Lily will have family friend Julia running alongside her throughout, providing encouragement and support. Regardless of her finishing time, we're immensely proud of Lily's commitment to both her sport and this worthy cause. Running has taught Lily so much — resilience, discipline, and the power of setting goals. She wants to channel that strength into supporting others. Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly to help disabled people and their families.
Lily also wanted to add a small comment on here too —
"I am so excited to run and no matter what timing I get, I am happy to be supporting such a worthwhile charity. Running makes me feel strong and I feel like I can do anything. I would love your support with both a small donation and turning up and supporting me at the run. It would mean the absolute world to me. I promise I will try my best and try to make everyone proud".
Please donate, come cheer Lily on at Battersea Parkrun, and help support Scope. Your support means everything to her.
We will add more details on the exact date of her run with updates on this.
