Alfie's fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities

Alfie's sponsored haircut · 9 July 2025
Ronald McDonald House Charities UK provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation to families with children having treatment in hospital.
Our Houses offer much more than just a place to stay; they provide family activities, peer support, respite, and many other services. This means that families can be by their child’s bedside in a matter of moments, whilst maintaining a degree of normal life with reduced emotional and financial strain.
Alfie's story
In April 2025, following a difficult battle with a rare liver disease, Alfie's sister Martha underwent a liver transplant operation. This meant a lengthy stay in hospital 2 hours away from home for Martha and her Mum and at times Dad too. It was a tricky time for the whole family but being offered a room at the Ronald McDonald House Charities accommodation next to the hospital meant Alfie and his brother could visit Martha, have a space to play, maintain a level of normality and be together as a family. Having a space to escape to undoubtedly helped make this very difficult time much more manageable.
Alfie is very proud of his long hair but has decided he would like to organise a sponsored haircut to raise funds for this important charity very close to our families hearts. He will be donating the 8 inches he plans to cut off to the Little Princess Trust, which use the hair to make wigs for children.
We are extremely grateful for any donation you are able offer.
