As many of you know, we lost our lovely Dad in April.

Following the shock of diagnosis, Willow Wood gave my Dad hope and peace through an admission to review his treatment. We were all incredibly grateful for their support and expertise.

Hospice care covers so much and is really vital in helping to give families back the precious days at the end of life. Willow Wood was such a safe place for us all, many people visited and it became a home from home for nearly 3 weeks. When he came home, he often recognised how vital his stay was in allowing him to make so many new memories.

Dad wasn’t one to shy away from pitching in and helping. We didn’t plan this walk with fundraising in mind but it wouldn’t be very Dad of us to not take this opportunity to raise awareness for a wonderful charity and hospice care in general, giving light back to those facing the darkest days.

There have been some hard days this year, and I’m sure this walk will have some more for us, but knowing we are helping more families get much needed help at the end of life, will really make it worthwhile.
