At the time I will be doing the abseil from the Forth Rail Bridge, i will have had my "bionic" titanium heart valve for three years. In the time since that I have been strongly supported in my recovery by Killie Heartmates who are an associate organisation of CHSS. Both organisations have been inspiring and proactive in their support and rehabilitation of survivors of chest conditions, heart problems and stroke recovery. These conditions can be long standing or spontaneous. What is common to all of them is they are life changing and have long term effects. No-one should go through such traumatic events alone and CHSS is there with its associate organisations to provide the support. My experience has been one of being accepted into the "family" so I see this as an opportunity to repay the support and give something back to CHSS for the brilliant work they do.
