Story
Starting in Palas de Rei, we begin our three-day trekking adventure along this popular pilgrimage route. We will trek through rolling green landscapes, traditional villages and picturesque woodlands on our way to Santiago, discovering local traditions and meeting fellow pilgrims along the way.
Today the Camino is more than a pilgrimage, it is a remarkable journey and a unique experience.
Our final destination is the magical Santiago Old Town, a wonderful UNESCO World Heritage site, home to the stunning Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela!
Wirral Hospice St John's provides specialist palliative care for the Wirral. It costs up to £7million a year to run the Hospice, which is at no charge to our patients. This is all thanks to the loyal support and commitment of our supporters who do so much to help raise funds for our charity's work.
When I saw there was to be a fund raising event walking part of the Camino de Santiago I was immediately interested. David and I walked 120 kilometres 8 years ago and I thought this was something I would like to take part in. Care is provided not only to in patients bot it also offers a Hospice at Home service so patients can be looked after in thier iwn homes
More information is available on our website wirralhospice.org about how we spend and raise the money to help keep Wirral Hospice St John's running.
