Story
The rear of our MHF shirts carry the logo of the Samaritans - Samaritans have our back.
Some of our attendees and volunteers are here today because they picked up the phone and called 116 123. And so on Sunday 21st June at Chadderton FC, two teams made up of MHF attendees and volunteers will take to the field dressed in either orange or green fancy dress outfits with the aim of raising mental health awareness, tackling the stigma and raising some money. Expect to see Shrek vs Tony the Tiger, Fred Flintstone vs the Hulk, and a dinosaur vs a carrot! Come along and show your support, but more importantly, please donate.
MHF is a pressure and judgement free football session that takes place every Friday night in Oldham. Our aim is to improve attendees mental health using football and peer support. Find out more here: www.afcoldham/mhf
Life can be tough. Sometimes it feels like nobody else understands. If it’s all getting too much to handle you can talk to Samaritans. They won’t judge or tell you what to do. They’re there to listen so no-one has to face tough times alone. Every 10 seconds, Samaritans answers a call for help. Samaritans can be contacted round the clock, for free, on 116 123, day or night, 365 days a year. It’s only your donations and 23,000 listening volunteers that make sure Samaritans can be there for someone today, so they can believe in tomorrow.
