My London Marathon Journey for Cardiff & Vale Health Charity!

On 26th April 2026, I’ll be lacing up my running shoes to take on the iconic London Marathon! This isn’t just about covering 26.2 miles; it’s about making a profound difference for a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart: the Cardiff & Vale Health Charity.

As an employee of the Cardiff & Vale University Health Board, I see first hand the tireless dedication and vital work that goes on every single day across our services. This amazing charity provide crucial support to all 9 hospitals, 17 health centres and over 300 separate funds that benefit every single ward and department within the Health Board. Their work touches countless lives, providing essential equipment, enhancing patient comfort, and funding vital initiatives. Many of my own family and friends have received exceptional care within these services, making my connection to this cause deeply personal. I simply couldn’t imagine running for anyone else.

The London Marathon is a monumental challenge, and I’m already deep into my training, including booking smaller races to complete along the way. Running, and fitness in general has truly transformed my life. It’s become my anchor, empowering me to manage my emotions and significantly improving my mental health. To combine this personal journey of growth with supporting such an essential local charity means the absolute world to me.

Every single pound you donate will directly support the vital work of our local NHS services, helping them continue to provide outstanding care across Cardiff and Vale. Your generosity will be my ultimate motivation on race day, pushing me through every mile.
