🫀 Running the London Marathon 2026 for Myocarditis UK — For Matt ❤️🔥
In 2026, I’m taking on the challenge of running the London Marathon to raise £1,500 for Myocarditis UK, in honour of my incredible boyfriend, Matt.
Matt’s journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. In 2016, at just 28 years old, Matt suffered a sudden out-of-hospital cardiac arrest — an event that very few survive. Against all odds, he pulled through, but was told that his heart was severely damaged. He’s lived with an S-ICD (subcutaneous defibrillator) and lifelong medication ever since.
Over the years, that device has saved his life more times than we can count. But recently, things took another turn. His S-ICD was replaced with a transvenous ICD with pacing to manage worsening tachycardia — and just weeks later, Matt went into cardiac arrest again.
Today, Matt is in hospital living on a BiVAD machine, a mechanical heart pump keeping him alive while he waits for a life-saving heart transplant. He won’t be leaving the hospital until that transplant comes.
This cause is incredibly close to my heart. Myocarditis UK supports research, awareness, and families affected by this silent, devastating condition. Your donation, no matter the size, will help make a difference — for Matt, for others like him, and for the future of heart health.
Thank you for supporting me in this marathon and in this mission. Every step I run is for Matt 💙
