Story
Just over a week to go before the big swim. We did this last year and have to say it was really tough, a really rough day weather wise but then the weather in August is generally not nice! It was supposedly at slack tide in the estuary but many people got swept off by the current and got tangled in the moored boats. At one point I was swimming back to where I had come from. So expecting some pretty vile conditions again. I honestly felt like I had been beaten up the next day!
On the plus side I will have my swim buddy by my side and we will just treat it as a leisure swim whilst earning a few quid for a good cause. There will also be a hot pasty at the end. What’s not to like!!!
We are all getting to that age now where friends and loved ones are sadly needing Marie Curie more than ever. So if you are able please donate a few pounds, every penny will go to a very good cause.
Training is going well, we have covered the distance but have to say in flatter smoother conditions at our favourite swim spot “Porthpean.”
I’ll let you all know how it goes, hope for some better weather, prepare for the worst, hope for the best!!!!
Thank you all in advance! Xxx
Nicky
