Story
On the 27th of September, myself and a couple of friends completed a 75-mile bike ride, The Peak Tour, to raise funds for the amazing Sheffield Children’s Hospital. It took us a little over 9 hours, and every mile was powered by the thought of why we were riding.
In September 2024, my families world changed forever when our son, Noah, was diagnosed with a brain tumour. He bravely endured a gruelling 9-hour craniotomy. Just three months later, during his first post-op scan, we received the devastating news that the tumour had returned. Noah had to undergo a second 9-hour surgery.
Since his diagnosis, he has faced more than any child ever should: 10 general anaesthetics, two lumbar punctures, and an external drain fitted to relieve fluid build-up on his brain (hydrocephalus). Through it all, he has shown incredible strength and courage.
Thanks to the outstanding care from the surgeons, doctors, and nurses at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, things are now looking more hopeful. His most recent scan was stable, and we remain optimistic as we await the next one.
The journey has been tough. Noah has been left with balance difficulties and ataxia down his right side, yet his determination and bravery continue to inspire us every day.
This ride wasn’t only for Noah — it was for every child and every family who turns to Sheffield Children’s Hospital in their hour of need. The hospital supports thousands of young patients each year, often with limited resources, but always with the highest standard of care and compassion.
We’ll be keeping our JustGiving page open for a couple more months, continuing to raise as much money as possible in that time. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will directly support the hospital and help them continue their life-changing work. If you’re not able to donate, simply sharing this page would mean so much.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness and support. Together, we can make a real difference.
