Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm taking part in this event for several reasons. One, I love Linkin Park and their music has always been something I can relate to, and the passing of Chester Bennington was a sad, sad day in music and in mental health.
Secondly, as many will know, I have had my own very long mental health journey, and I made my first "attempt" at age 13/14 years old, and sadly, many more since then. The last time I spent any time in a mental health facility was in 2016, and it was after a particularly nasty "manic" episode. I've suffered depression, anxiety, psychosis, and it was even thought I had Bipolar disorder at one time, but since been diagnosed with PTSD and autism as well as the ADHD I was diagnosed with as a kid though I never fully understood it. It's been a long, scary ride from then to here, and I've come a hell of a long way, and music has been the one constant that kept me there. Music and singing has been the constant support, whispering in my ear to keep going and for those reasons, this is why its so important to me to take part in this event.
I will be singing for Chester, I'll be singing for me, and I'll be singing for everyone in my life that's ever struggled with their mental health!
Please if you can donate, I would greatly appreciate it but if you could also share too, I'd be so grateful.
