Story
Three years ago, I received the devastating news that a large brain tumour (or meningioma) had been detected in a routine scan . Nothing prepares you for the shock of hearing those words. However, thanks to the incredible skills of the Neurosurgery team at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford and the support from friends, family and organisations such as Brain Tumour Research, I am alive and living every moment.
Yet, even after successful treatment, the journey continues. From the outside, I may appear ‘normal’, but below the surface, there is a whirlwind of anxieties. Is this sudden headache something to worry about? What will my next MRI scan reveal? Will the tumour start growing again?
Each year, thousands face similar battles with brain tumours.
That’s why I am participating in the Walk of Hope 2025 (5.5km) on Saturday 27 September 2025 at Brockwell Park in London.
My goal is to raise £500 towards Brain Tumour Research—the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK aimed at finding a cure for brain tumours. With your generous support, we can reach this target together and bring hope to those affected by this devastating disease.
One in three people in the UK knows someone impacted by a brain tumour; this disease is indiscriminate and can affect anyone at any age. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this narrative—help fund our fight!
Together, we will find a cure.
Thank you for reading my story. It would be great if you could you could donate and also forward to other people.
