Rob and Fliss's fundraiser for the ME Association

Fliss Shepley is raising money for ME Association

Cycling Lands End to John O'Groats

The ME Association campaigns hard to get ME recognised as a severe neurological illness. Our helpline provides essential information and support to adults and children who have ME/CFS, and to their families and carers. We also fund biomedical research into the physical nature and causes of ME/CFS.

Story

Our personal journey with ME began in summer 2024 when, after four years of feeling inexplicably unwell, our daughter was diagnosed with ME.

As parents it is heartbreaking to see her unable to enjoy life in the way she would like. Research into ME is very limited, despite there being over 400,000 people in the UK affected by it and there is no really effective treatment to improve life for sufferers with any certainty. That’s when we came up with the idea of riding from Lands End to John O’Groats. The aim of our challenge is to increase awareness about ME and raise funds to support more research.

We are funding all the expenses for the trip ourselves, so any money you donate will go directly to the ME Association. We would be very grateful if you would help us to support research into this dreadful condition which currently has no known cure.
