To celebrate the summer holidays and the new football season, I thought I'd try to raise a few quid for this permanently essential cause.

On Tuesday 19th August, Nantwich Town FC travel to Sporting Khalsa FC for their second away league game of the season. Rather than go in the car, I'm going to run the forty-something miles from the Optimum Pay Stadium, Nantwich, (the Dabberdome!), to the Aspray Arena in Wolverhampton.

The route depends on the weather. If all goes to plan & the conditions are dry, I'll follow the Shropshire Union canal towpath for the vast majority of the journey, (joining the path less than half a mile from the Dabberdome, getting off it near Wolverhampton racecourse about 4 miles from the stadium). If it's too wet, I may have to use some A-roads.

All donations, no matter how small, are most welcome. Directly or indirectly, cancer affects everyone. I lost a treasured member of my family earlier this year - she remains in my thoughts and will my motivation on the day.
