I’m sleeping out on the cold, hard concrete in freezing conditions to support local people facing crisis this winter.

If I can get just 10 friends to sponsor me £20 this could pay for a 3-day food parcel to feed a single person facing food poverty.

The last few years have been challenging for everyone particularly myself. I went from having everything and anything to absolutely nothing. I felt the need to start over. Dens are an amazing charity and really do not get enough praise. They’ve helped me turn my life around. Having spent 9 months in a hostel I learned to truly look after the one person that really needs it - “MYSELF”. I’ve learned to manage funds, my mental health and psychical health, heal heartbreak and loss and everything in between.

I have taken part in this for the last two years and stayed out in the freezing snowy conditions for the entire night for the first one. The second wasn't soo bad but couldn't imagine what people who sleep rough have to go through. It really taught me that I was very close to having to sleep on the cold streets of Hertfordshire.

With the help of Dens I truly wouldn't be the person I am today. I've now been in my own property for the last 20 months. I couldn’t be more grateful for the help, guidance and support of this amazing charity. Spending one night out in the cold is nothing compared to what some people face on a day to day basis. It truly is an amazing charity and I have tried to do everything and anything to give back!
