Story
When I was just 12 years old, I experienced a life-changing event in 2020. I suffered a left thalamic infarct, which is an ischemic stroke that impacted my thalamus—a crucial part of the brain responsible for relaying sensory and motor signals, as well as playing a vital role in language, memory, and attention. During my time at Southampton hospital, I was surrounded by amazing doctors and nurses who dedicated themselves to helping me regain my strength and return to the person I am today.
I am incredibly grateful for the support I received during this challenging time. Their unwavering commitment not only helped me physically but also inspired me to advocate for others who have faced similar struggles. The journey of recovery is not easy, and many individuals still need assistance navigating their own paths after a stroke.
Today, I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt request. By supporting the Stroke Association, you can help provide essential resources and support for those affected by strokes. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of countless individuals who are on their own journeys of recovery. Please consider donating £200 to this important cause; your generosity can bring hope and healing to those in need.
