Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On the 20th of June myself and a small group of hikers will be taking on the incredible task of completing the "Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge", in aid of the charity Greyhound Rescue Wales.
This demanding challenge involves summiting the three highest peaks in Wales within a strict 24hr time limit. The mountains we will be climbing are:
Snowdon (Yr Wyddffa) --- standing at 1,085 metres, the highest mountain in Wales.
Cadair Idris --- reaching 893 metres and renowned for its rugged beauty and challenging terrain.
Pen y Fan --- the highest peak in South Wales at 886 metres, located in the breathtaking Brecon Beacons National Park (Bannau Brycheiniog National Park).
Together these mountains will test our endurance, determination, and teamwork as we face steep ascents, difficult terrain, and very little rest throughout the challenge.
However, this event is about more than just climbing mountains, We are undertaking this challenge to raise vital funds and awareness for Greyhound Rescue Wales, a charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming retired and abandoned greyhounds. These gentle and loving dogs deserve safe homes, care, and a second chance at life (a lot of them after being raced) and every donation will help support that mission.
By pushing ourselves to complete this challenge, we hope to make a real difference for these amazing animals.
Any support, donations or shares would mean the world to us and to the dogs whose lives could be changed through the work of Greyhound Rescue Wales.
Thank you for supporting our journey and helping us climb for a cause that truly matters.
About Greyhound Rescue Wales
Greyhound Rescue Wales is the dedicated rescue and rehoming charity for greyhounds and lurchers across Wales. The organisation works to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome sighthounds while promoting high welfare standards and raising awareness of the challenges these breeds face. Alongside hands-on rescue work, Greyhound Rescue Wales actively supports efforts to end greyhound racing in Wales and advocates for stronger legal protection for sighthounds. Supported by a skilled staff team, trustees, and a large network of volunteers, the charity provides full veterinary care for dogs in its care and is committed to promoting greyhounds and lurchers as loving, loyal companion pets.
