LOROS Hospice is a local charity delivering free care and support to over 2,500 people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland each year. Our free high-quality, compassionate services are tailored to be special and unique to each terminally ill patient, their family and carers.

Story

LOROS is a charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay.

We’re proud to be hosting a special charity event in support of LOROS Hospice, a vital organisation providing end-of-life care and support for thousands of local patients and families.

– Launch of our Hair Loss Clinic and the innovative IntelliHALO system:

After 12 months of dedicated research and preparation, Sue is proud to officially launch our Hair Loss Clinic—a service designed to support women experiencing hair thinning or loss.

At the heart of this launch is IntelliHALO, a revolutionary mesh-free hair integration system developed by Sharni Knighton. This system offers a natural-looking, long-lasting, and secure solution, and is ideal for those seeking confidence without compromise. Our team will be doing live demonstrations of this system at the event and answering questions related to this and any hair concerns.

Whether you’re booking a treatment, entering our raffle, or simply popping in to donate – every contribution counts.

💔 The Reality Facing LOROS:

LOROS is currently facing a £2 million shortfall in funding. Rising costs and reduced donations are putting their essential services at risk. Sue herself has seen the impact of this recently due to a family member being cared for at the hospice.

This includes:

A reduction to just 20 inpatient beds

Day therapy services now running only Tuesday to Thursday

Significant cuts to physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, chaplaincy, and complementary therapies

Closure of the Volunteer Home Visiting Service—a critical support lifeline run by 90 volunteers, now shut down due to funding cuts and the loss of the three staff members who coordinated the programme.

💬 Why It Matters:

LOROS relies on community donations to keep going. Every pound helps fund nurses, counselling, and support services for people facing life-limiting illness.

Let’s come together and make a real difference.
