Vicki's story
I never thought I would be in the position where I am racing in memory of my Mum. I thought she would be cheering me on. She thought I was nuts trying a Triathlon. But I wanted to push myself to do something new.
Mum passed away on 2/3/25 after a courageous battle with Myeloma. She never let the disease rule her she fought and she lived in equal measures.
In February we were told the devastating news there was nothing more to be done and to enjoy our time. We thought we had time. We got 3 weeks.
Mum deteriorated very quickly and her wish was to go to St Gemmas where she spent the last 36 hours of her life. They cared not only for mun but for us as well. They explained, listened and comforted us and continue to do so. Nothing is a problem no matter how trivial. The staff are nothing short of angels. They treated mum with love and in the most dignified way.
Thankyou will never be enough. So I want to raise as much as I can for this amazing place. £500 per day supports the care of one person. If I can help another person and their family at the worst time in their lives I will be forever grateful.
Thankyou
