Story
The Voluntary Services team at Queen Alexandra Hospital need your help!
Caroline, Louise and Layla (Louise's daughter) are running 5K in September with Portsmouth Hospitals Charity to raise money for the Patient Experience fund.
We are hoping to raise some money in order to celebrate the incredible Volunteers that selflessly give up their time here at the hospital.
By giving back to those that give their time to our community, your donation will help us fund future events such as Volunteers week and Volunteer celebrations held over the year.
Volunteers at Queen Alexandra Hospital are a secret weapon that help the running of the Trust go more smoothly. You may not even realise the roles that volunteers do, so here are some of the things they cover (and trust us, there are lots more tasks they assist with too!)
Ward Assistance: Helping the busy ward staff with handing out meals, restocking equipment and talking to patients.
Pets As Therapy Teams: We have lots of dogs that cover many areas across the hospital with their owners who are volunteers - they support with patient and staff wellbeing.
Hospital Guides: The welcoming face at the front door who helps guide you to where you are heading, for your appointment or to see a loved one.
Hospital Radio: Taking requests from patients and keeping up the morale, our hospital radio is run by volunteers.
Admin: There are a number of administrative volunteers across the hospital helping departments with answering phones, sending appointment letters and scanning documents.
