Story
Every year I raise money for dementia charities in memory of my amazing mum, Christine.
We lost her at the end of November 2022 and I found that wearing Christmas jumpers in the following December was a really good way to get me back to my happy self - it really brought me joy and started lots of wonderful conversations.
This is year 3 of doing it to raise money for charity and comes with a new twist! As usual, you can sponsor me to wear a different jumper every day until Christmas, but this week I'll also be sharing a 'menu' of challenges that you can choose from to get those donations up - anything from a festive 5k, to a dip in the Atlantic, to dying my hair - and I'm open to any (kind) suggestions!
I'm raising money for BRACE who fund world class clinical and laboratory research into Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia to find better treatments, achieve earlier diagnosis and one day, a cure. With 1 in 2 of us expected to be affected by dementia, by caring for someone, developing the condition ourselves, or both, further research has never been more vital. Real progress has been made in recent years, but it’s essential we keep funding new research to ensure that success continues long into the future. Every donation helps us get one step closer to defeating dementia.
Every pound donated accelerates research that could change the future for millions.
Together we will defeat dementia.
