Zoe’s Road to £10K

Team: Beat the Stigma for Dom
Team: Beat the Stigma for Dom
In loving memory of my brother Dominic, who sadly ended his own life on May 18, 2015, I am dedicating this fundraising effort to honor his memory as we approach the 10 year anniversary of his death in 2025. Dominic faced many challenges throughout his life, battling his inner demons without the support he truly needed. My mum and I miss him every single day; our hearts were shattered that day, and even after all these years, the memory remains so vivid.
Growing up without Dom has been incredibly challenging. He was always there for me when I needed support. Over the past decade, I’ve been committed to raising a total of £5,000 for mental health and suicide prevention charities, hoping to change lives and help remove the stigma surrounding these issues.
To help others struggling with similar issues, I am aiming to reach the £10,000 mark (to signify Dom’s 10 year anniversary) for PAPYRUS, a charity that has become incredibly important to me. Their work in suicide prevention has been invaluable, not just to me but to many families navigating these difficult paths. Their support has been a lifeline during my difficult times, reminding me that I am not alone in this journey. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINE247.
I will be participating in several events next year, including the London Marathon, a silent disco and gin night to honour Dom’s memory and support this vital cause. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference. I invite anyone who wishes to join me, and I would love to hear any ideas you might have to add to the list or ways to honour Dom. I will be posting all updates on my running page @runwithzoe
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support as I remember my brother and as we work together to make a difference in the lives of those who are struggling 💜💜💜
