After much deliberation and several glasses of encouragement we have undertaken the mammoth task (well it is to us) to run the Palma Half Marathon along with some very quick pacesetters running the 10k to pull us along. After running the Wilmslow half in March on a very wet & windy day a few years ago our enthusiasm for running 13 miserable miles had disappeared, especially when being described by a rather overweight Cheshire policewoman as ‘the stragglers’!
...so here we are again but now training through the summer and looking forward to Palma with the bonus that if a Palma Police Officer describes us as ‘the stragglers’ we will take it as encouragement because we won’t understand a word he/she is saying!
Our charity is extremely close to our hearts and we are going to sprint our way around the streets for Autism Initiatives, a fantastic charity supporting people with autism to take ownership of their lives whilst also giving lots of support and guidance to their families. Thank you .........every £ counts.... With love The Palma Violets! x
