I'm over my target now! (But I am still collecting sponsorship!)OK, my reasons for doing this (the marathon, and the raising money):
a) I love running (yeah, I know I'm slow...)
b) I suffered the sort of injuries Headway help people deal with.
In 2005 (in France) I fell off my bicycle (with a helmet on!) and banged my head. As a result, I was in a coma for weeks, and the French doctor told my husband I was brain dead. Rob must have been terrified! I don't remember the few years before my accident (moving house, having daughter No.2, her being a baby...), or for about 6 months afterwards.
I am still officially 'blind'. I dislike the term, but I would not dare drive while I can't see anything on my right hand side. It's funny, the damage a thump on the head can do.... But Headway are around to try and help people who have these types of injuries. Please help them by sponsoring me. (And, if you do so, and have the option, please choose the GiftAid option.
