I have not been lucky enough to meet Steve but have followed his journey on Facebook.  Steve's son Adam is a best mate of our Ben. 

Steve is amazing. Whilst facing a devastating terminal cancer prognosis Steve decided to dedicate his remaining time to leave a lasting legacy. Steve and his family and friends have raised a huge amount of money for The Ronald McDonald House, Manchester, to pay for converting some extra space into 5 new rooms. The charity have decided to name these the Steve Burne rooms, in recognition of his service to the charity over the past 15 years. 

So Rob and I are going sober for the month of October. As you all know I LOVE my wine and Rob loves his beer but we can do it for this great cause.
