Africa Overland · 31 January 2010

Pangbourne College provides a challenging education for boys and girls. The traditions of teamwork, leadership and service are important. The development of character is emphasised. Kindness, selflessness, moral courage, industry, initiative, resilience and integrity are prioritised.

Story

In a test of our resilience and endeavour and in the spirit of enduring friendship we will travel through Africa – London to Cape Town via Cairo – in two Toyota Land Cruisers on a challenge lasting four months which involves the crossing of 17 countries on an expedition covering 30,000km.

Branded ‘Pangbourne Africa’ - three of us are Old Pangbournians, - our epic journey commences on 31st January 2010 from Pangbourne College, Berkshire, England and will conclude at the end of May 2010 in Cape Town,South Africa

Celebrating the dawn of a new decade was never, in itself, going to be enough for the Team; we wanted to make a difference – contributing to a worthy cause gives us this opportunity.  Pangbourne College is already running a campaign to raise funds towards a new Communications Complex, designed to further develop the potential of the students so that they become successful leaders in their future chosen careers.

The College has already raised £1,664,385 towards their target of £2m and we of Pangbourne Africa aim, with your support and contribution, to play a small part in the success of this worthy project – just £335,615 to go!
