Up to 1 in 3 of our children and 1 in 12 adults have eczema. The society provides information and support, funds research into treatments and possible cures and works to dispel myths so those who have eczema need not feel stigmatised, guilty or isolated.

My story

7th October 2009

This is to say a huge thank you to all who have sponsored me. As you can see I have raised over £200 for the National Eczema Society and even though the fast has now finished and I must say it was a success and I am very very proud of myself for keeping up the challenge I have now raised my target to £300 and for those of you who didn't get round to sponsoring me any chance you could now?

I would be hugely grateful if you could.

Hi Guys,

Thank you so much to those of you who have sponsored me so far. Just to update you it is my fourth day of my fast and even though it is proving to be difficult at times - I can't have my choccie biccie and cup of tea for my elevenses - just the thought of how all the money i've raised so far will help the National Eczema Society in their research, help and support to Eczema sufferers keeps me well motivated and I have even surprised myself as I don't even feel hungry!!! :) The one time evening meals are much more tastier and nutritious as i've been starving myself all day and the amount of water i'm drinking is helping me to detoxify. I must say I am very proud of myself.

I am thinking of doing a sponsored fast for a religious festival. The festival starts on the 19th September for nine days. Basically I will be fasting during the day and eating a full meal one time and only in the evening. I am allowed to drink unlimited tea/coffee/water and fruit juice during the day.

Would you be happy to sponsor me for this fast? It would be during our National Eczema Week too.

Thousands of people suffer the debiletating condition that is eczema and I for one would like to help the NES raise funds to continue their reasearch in helping people with Eczema.
