My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A garment worker working in an average garment factory can expect to take home just 0.5% of the final selling price of an item. A £6 t-shirt will equate to £0.03 to the seamstress. We are launching a petition calling on major retailers and our government to ensure more ethical practices within the fashion industry. We are asking the major retailers of British High Streets to ensure that their codes of conduct meet all of the International Labour Organisation standards. We are petitioning our government to introduce corporate responsibility laws, legally requiring UK clothing companies to meet ethical standards.
