Story

And lo, ParalympicsGB were chosen as the Charity Partner for Ride Across Britain!

Riders from all over the land were to spend days in the saddle, raising riches to allow the Paralympians of Britain to fulfil their dreams and make their Country proud.

But ParalympicsGB were not content to let these brave individuals ride and raise alone. Oh no.

And so, ParalympicsGB summoned three staff members of incredible strength, indomitable spirit and iron will and asked them to fetch Tanya, Nick and Duncan. These three warriors will ride forth for one thousand miles and carry the torch for ParalympicsGB!

Inspired by The Goodies they longed to ride a ‘trandem’. However medical advisors decided that sitting in close proximity to Nick for eight hours a day would damage both their hearing and minds beyond repair. Despite this setback, still longs to ride in a tweed jacket with leather elbow patches and Tanya has Sky plussed all the old episodes of ‘Springwatch’ and ‘Bill Oddie Goes Wild’.

Already their training is defying the limits of human endurance: Tanya is seeing a physio to glue her knee together, Nick has bought every bit of cycling gear known to man and knows where the gym is but is a bit too scared to go inside.

We ask that you donate generously to ParalympicsGB. When you see a British athlete on the podium in 2012 you can say ‘I helped’. And when you see us hobbling round after the ride you can laugh. A lot.
