Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
Kilimanjaro is an inactive stratovolcano in north-eastern Tanzania rising 4,600 m from its base, and is additionally the highest peak in Africa at 5,895 metres providing a dramatic view of the surrounding plains.
We will be climbing the Kilimanjaro, up to the Uhuru Peak which stands at 5895 metres, using the Machame route. Each day we will ascend approximately 1000m of the mountain and trek 10kms along the various vegetations, enjoying the beautiful sceneries around us . However, our challenge starts now by raising the money and physically training ourselves for this special event.
This task is very demanding but also very rewarding, as we will be raising funds for one of our favourite charities - African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF).
AMREF’s mission is to improve the health of disadvantaged people in Africa as a means for them to escape poverty and improve the quality of their lives. The charity has almost 50 years experience in health development in Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.
A donation, however small, will help tap into Africa's potential and create a bright future for the continent. Further details of the charity can be found at: http://www.amref.org/
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: AMREF, UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks in advance
