Story
Looking back over the past year in a personal and professional perspective it’s safe to say that many hurdles have been overcome and many goals have been reached. None of these things would have been possible without the love and support from my friends, family and employees.
I decided that I wanted to challenge myself, push my limits and strive to succeed. But these goals are not just personal. My aim is to raise as much support, awareness and funds for the Albert Kennedy Trust as possible.
I became familiar with this charity last year and I am I so impressed with the work they do. Helping young people that are in hostile and violent situation due to their sexuality is the main aim of this organisation; you can read more by clicking on the link on my page.
For me it seemed a natural partnership for myself and my company to support such an incredible charity. I therefore have set a goal to raise £3,000 for by the end of March 2013. I won’t be alone in doing this; I’ll be actively encouraging my employees and the young people we support to get involved with the fundraising and events.
I will personally be pushing myself and my body to the limits in April 2013 by Trekking over 6 days across the Sahara Desert, this is no luxury journey, I'll be carrying my own day sack, sleeping in tents, eating off a log fire and walking in blistering heat; all of which is topped off by the lack over showering facilities currently available in the desert, as you can imagine a lot of babywipes will be needed to remove sand from places that sand should not be.
I hope that you too will be moved by the amazing ethos and mission this charity presents and help me reach my goal so the AKT can continue to reach the young people that need their support.
Thank you x
