Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I hope that you don't mind my contacting you this way, but I'm trying to reach as many people as possible.

I'm doing a 6 day trek in India next March to raise money for Plan UK. I think that Plan is a good organization.  It carries out  a wide range of projects that help communities all over the world. I've been connected with it for over 10 years; mainly through sponsoring a child in Kenya.   I feel pretty involved with this charity.

There's been stuff in the media recently about sponsoring people's exotic holidays. So I need to assure you that any money you give will go directly to the charity to be used in its work. I have already paid for the cost of the trip. In addition, I'm told by Plan that  no sponsor money is used for their admin costs.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Plan UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

If you'd like to sponsor me but don't fancy using a credit card online, you can send a cheque payable to Plan UK and post it to:

Kevin Machin, Plan UK, 5-6 Underhill St., London, NW1 7HS
Please can you put my name and my sponsor no. - 49124 - on the back of the cheque.

I'd be really grateful if you can sponsor me. I have to try to raise 80% of the sum above by Christmas.

I realize that, apart from any shelling out, doing this a bit of a hassle. So,  thank you.

Best wishes,

Pat (Trish).

I'd like to thank very much the following people who have donated offline:

Hughie Comery, Marion Lance, Anne and Trevor Hamilton, Nigel Reader, Richard Lawrie, Maggie Grainger , Graham Sneddon, Alan Bairstow,  Bryan Hornett, Anna and Vic Marks, William Brown, Jackie Witkin, Margaret Taylor , John, Roger Sampson and Annie Beddow.
