Patrick died on Friday 11 January in a hospital recovery room immediately after a minor surgical procedure. He had been chatting animatedly to his doctor about the state of English cricket just before he suddenly collapsed and died. Patrick celebrated his 88th birthday in December but despite his age and a few minor health problems his death was unexpected.
The charity that he and Joan created has helped more than 100,000 children and parents enjoy a holiday - usually a bucket and spade break at the British seaside. And this year another 7,000 people will benefit from a holiday through the FHA - that's a great many happy memories.
If you knew Patrick you will immediately understand why a book of rememberance is also a fundraiser for the charity he and his wife established 32 years ago and have worked tirelessly for ever since.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate. The Family Holiday Association will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
Please leave a message, I will compile them for Joan to read.
Many thanks
