Antarctic Ice Marathon · 5 December 2008

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: DebRA gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor me now!

Having completed the North Pole marathon in April 2007, I decided to test my sanity yet again and run 2 marathons in a week. The first is in Chile in Vina Del Mar on 8th December 2008, and the second is the Antarctic Ice marathon. I will go from running in +30 degrees heat to around -10 degrees (colder if its windy). (www.icemarathon.com) Assuming that I make it and dont die in the attempt I am aiming to complete the Grand Slam of running a marathon on all seven continents plus the North Pole. I am running the Marrakesh marathon in January 2009 and then only have to run in Asia to complete the task. STOP PRESS: JOB DONE! I have just got back, and, what an amazing experience! I ran a time of 3.54 in Chile and 5.34 in the Antarctic. Many many thanks to all my generous sponsors!

Thanks to your generosity I raised over £4000 for Debra last year, and so am happy to continue supporting such a worthwhile cause this year.
