Story

I am running ten x 10 km runs in 10 weeks to raise funds for Mpumelelo secondary School in a drought-ridden and rural part of Zimbabwe. The fabric of the school needs renewal and there is poor water supply and no electricity.

I am raising funds to ensure the school has good basic infrastructure and services (buildings, water, electricity, fencing); to provide educational materials so children can study in a good learning environment (desks, books, equipment for sport and practical subjects) and to enable the school to develop so it can be used by the community as a resource centre (literacy, HIV/AIDS training).

All money raised will go directly to the school and will be administered by the Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Zimbabwe. For more information see Facebook group - Mpumelelo Secondary School, Mkayi, Zimbabwe. This school needs your support!

My first run will be on 16th May 2010 in Guildford, Surrey and my final run will be 25th July 2010 in Elmbridge, Surrey.

Thank you for your generosity,

Paul Challis

About the charity

ZRSDP aims to help schools in rural Zimbabwe. By working with our local contacts in Zimbabwe, we direct our funds where we believe they will have the highest impact, providing materials for communities to build classrooms and furniture. Our hope to improve the learning environment in some of the poorest areas of the country.
